IPL 2020: Sachin Tendulkar’s game-changing moments from MI vs RR

Mumbai Indians went on to defeat Rajasthan Royals at Sharjah on 6th October by 57 runs. Batting first, Mumbai managed to post 193/4 in 20 overs with some delicious hitting. Rajasthan crumbled in the chase and finished at 136 all out. Suryakumar Yadav won the Player of the Match Award for his 79 not out. Sachin Tendulkar analysed the complete match in his latest video.

Surya’s incredible knock

Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock gave a good start as MI almost completed their fifty in just five overs. The Shajah boundaries are smaller compared to other venues and sixes just keep flying. Tendulkar praised the openers for their clarity of role while batting. While de Kock attacks the bowling from the onset, Sharma tries to set himself for a longer knock.

Rohit eventually fell in the 9th over. Ishan Kishan followed him and was out on the first ball he faced. Tendulkar thought Kishan was confident of clearing the boundary but he should have taken his time.

Yadav played the defining knock. One of his 11 fours and two sixes particularly appealed Tendulkar and he went on to demonstrate as to how the batsman batted that day. MI later went on to add 51 runs in their last three overs with Kieron Pollard and Pandya brothers smashing boundaries. As per the batting legend, this was the game-changing moment in the first innings.

Early wickets – the game-changer

Trent Boult earned a breakthrough in the first over itself as he sent back Yashasvi Jaiswal. According to Tendulkar, it was more of a Test match delivery. The breakthrough allowed Jasprit Bumrah to bowl with the new ball. The legend stated that Steve Smith looked restless but mentally he was calm. Smith’s shot selection was wrong on the occasion and he was really disappointed with the shot.

Tendulkar also praised Anukul Roy for a fantastic catch. He also appreciated Kieron Pollard’s ability to not let anything go past him at the boundary ropes. As per Tendulkar, early wickets taken by Mumbai Indians was the game-changing moment in the second innings.
