IPL 2020: The schedule is out, MI to face CSK in tournament opener
The much-awaited schedule of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League has finally been released by the BCCI. Defending champions Mumbai Indians will take on the runners-up Chennai Super Kings in the tournament opener on 19th September at Abu Dhabi. While the venues and dates were previously announced, the exact schedule was still under the covers.

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will kick-start the first-ever IPL edition to be played entirely in the UAE. With the scare of the coronavirus pandemic, no audience shall be allowed in the grounds. The teams themselves are a part of the bio-secure bubble. The second day of the T20 tournament will see Delhi Capitals facing Kings XI Punjab. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be the next two teams in the action with Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders completing the line-up later.
The group stages shall be played till 3rd November. The final of the IPL 2020 is scheduled to take place on 10th November. There will be a total of 10 double-headers with the first match starting at 3:30PM IST. All evening matches will start at 7:30PM IST. In all, 24 matches will be held in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi and 12 in Sharjah. Venues for the playoffs and the Dream11 IPL 2020 final will be announced later.
