Watch: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s virtual team-meeting

The IPL 2020 is less than a month away. The teams have reached the UAE and are serving their quarantine periods as necessitated. Since the players can’t intermingle with each other during this time, teams are finding innovative ways to gel together.  Royal Challengers Bangalore carried out their first team meeting of the season virtually. The franchise released snippets of this meeting via their official Twitter handle.

RCB’s Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hesson, captain Virat Kohli and coach Simon Katich can be seen conversing with the sqaud in the seven-minute-long video.

In his first interaction with the RCB squad, Captain Kohli urged the players to follow all the necessary protocols which are in place to secure the bio-bubble throughout the tournament.

“I would expect everyone to be on same page in terms of securing the bubble at all times and make sure that nothing is compromised because one mistake can spoil the whole tournament and none of us would want that,” Kohli said.

Being so many months away from cricket is not natural for all the Indian cricketers involved. Kohli stressed upon that point and exclaimed his enthusiasm about getting out on the field in that first practice session. The captain and the coach also discussed the repercussions if any player violates the defined rules. Before signing out, Hesson congratulated Yuzvendra Chahal on his engagement and assured that the team will celebrate the occasion at an appropriate time.
