Three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday (August 21) began their journey to the UAE for IPL 2020. The 13th edition of the tournament will begin on September 19.

CSK captain MS Dhoni and teammate Suresh Raina recently announced their respective retirements from international cricket. The duo was all smiles ahead of their departure, sporting funky masks and the trademark CSK yellow colours.

CSK’s official Twitter account posted a series of pictures where the players can be seen preparing for their journey.

Some of the CSK players were part of a 6-day training camp in Chennai overseen by bowling coach Laksmipathy Balaji. A couple of notable absentees at the camp were Ravindra Jadeja, who is joining the squad directly on the UAE flight and Harbhajan Singh, who has stayed back for personal reasons.

Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has already touched down in UAE. The CSK batsman will now be spending 7 days in quarantine.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians will take on CSK in the IPL 2020 opener. Three stadiums in the UAE – Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah will host the entire tournament. The final is scheduled for November 10.
