Ian Bishop names the most difficult batsman he bowled to

Ian Bishop Tendulkar

Ian Bishop has immortalised many cricket moments with his authoritative voice on the commentary. He is one of the most respected cricketers in the current setup and is well aware of the upcoming talents. Before he became the gentle giant behind the mic, Bishop terrorised the batsmen with his pace and bounce. In a recent chat, he named Sachin Tendulkar as the most difficult batsman he ever bowled to.

Featuring 43 Tests and 84 ODIs for West Indies, Bishop snared 279 wickets in total. Australian captain Mark Taylor was his favourite scalp which he repeated 10 times in international cricket. He did dismiss Tendulkar thrice, all three times in Test cricket. He stopped the master blaster from getting to his century twice as he sent him back on 92 and 83 respectively. The Trinidadian bowler played 8 Tests and 12 ODIs against India from 1988 to 1997, of these nine included Tendulkar.

“Sachin Tendulkar is one of the most difficult batsmen to whom I have bowled in my career. He always used to hit in the straight lines,” Bishop said on a Star Sports show.

Bishop recently lent his voice for a video published by ICC on cricket’s resumption.
