Here’s how Indian cricketers participated in the #9pm9minutes initiative
To showcase the power of unity, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged all Indians to participate in the #9pm9minutes initiative. As a part of it, the people were urged to turn out their lights for 9 minutes at 9m on Sunday and light up their windows or doors with candles, diyas or flashlights of their mobile phones. The message behind it was to showcase that India was united in its fight against the coronavirus and also show solidarity towards all the healthcare and sanitation workers waging a tough battle.
The response to PM’s call was magnificent as people across the nation showed great fervor towards the initiative. Cricketers too were enthusiastic about Modi’s call to action and participated in it. Here’s how some of them participated in the cause:
My family & I thank the selfless #SanitationWarriors cleaning our surroundings & hospitals, disinfecting affected areas & thus keeping the virus at bay. Let’s also reignite our pledge to take care of our elders, the most vulnerable – by ensuring their physical & mental wellness. pic.twitter.com/tTheS9oO4I
