West Indies’ number four batsman Kirk McKenzie held his own in the first innings. While no other batsman scored more than 33, McKenzie eyed a World Cup century. He was dismissed on 99 by Clarke. West Indies were all out after his McKenzie’s fall. As teams started returning to the pavilion, the batsman was incapable of walking due to cramps. His excruciating attempt was witnessed by New Zealand fielders as well. Field and Jesse Tashkoff then stepped forward and carried McKenzie on their shoulders.

The gesture was shared from the twitter account of Cricket World Cup and soon reactions started pouring in on Twitter for the heroic act.
