As per the ICC concussion rules, Pant is now ruled out of the second game to be played at Rajkot on Friday (January 17). The southpaw will instead be flying down to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for further rehabilitation.
KL Rahul, who replaced Pant behind the wickets at Wankhede, is likely to continue shouldering the wicketkeeping duties for India. The left-hander’s availability for the final one-dayer will be decided after further assessment.
