That’s it from the auctions. It was a day full of frenzy with a few becoming billionaires while a few not getting even a single bid. The day belonged to Australian cricketers and India’s Under-19 players. Shimron Hetmyer and Sheldon Cottrell also returned with big bucks. Most teams will be happy with their purchases today. The preparations for IPL 2020 will take final shape today at Kolkata. After releasing players in the trade window, all eight franchises are looking to plug gaps in their respective squads. A total of 73 spots are available and 338 players will be vying for them in the IPL 2020 Auction.

Seven overseas players have set the highest reserve price (INR 2 crores) for themselves – Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Dale Steyn & Angelo Mathews are placed in the highest bracket.

Robin Uthappa is the only Indian player in the Auction list with a base price of INR 1.5 crore. Other major Indian stars, Piyush Chawla, Yusuf Pathan & Jaydev Unadkat have set their base price at INR 1 crore.

A total of 186 Indian players, 143 overseas players & 3 players from Associate Nations will be up for grabs in the IPL 2020 Player Auction in Kolkata. The event begins at 15:30 IST. Stay tuned for live updates.
