BCCI announces domestic schedule, T20s to be played before IPL Auction
The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) has announced the schedule of the upcoming Indian domestic season. It is a mega season which consists of 2036 matches across various age groups in the men’s and women’s category. The season 2019-20 shall commence with the Duleep Trophy in August and will be over by March 2020.
Ranji Trophy, India’s premier domestic tournament, will start on 9th December 2019 and the final date for the completion of the tournament is slated to be 13th March 2020. This is the first time that Ranji Trophy shall be played in the month of March. The board will persist with the same format that was used last year. A total of 160 matches will be played in the competition.

The BCCI has preponed the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy to November-December. This facilitates the IPL franchises to observe the performances of youngsters before bidding for them in the auction. The 142-match tournament shall commence on 8th November and will be over by 1st December.
The senior women’s domestic season will commence with the T20 League that is scheduled to start in the month of October. A total of 26 domestic tournaments will take place in the upcoming season that includes more than 2000 matches.
