6 names shortlisted to become next India head coach
The list is finally out. The race to become the next head coach of the Indian team now hots up. The BCCI has finally shortlisted 6 names who will battle it out to become the next coach of the Indian cricket team. The candidates will be interviewed by Kapil Dev led-CAC who will decide the final outcome. The six names who have been shortlisted are – Ravi Shastri, Tom Moody, Phil Simmons, Lalchand Rajput, Robin Singh and Mike Hesson.
The names of the six candidates were revealed in a story by PTI. A BCCI official told the agency:
“These six will give a presentation for the head coach before CAC. It has been learnt that these six have been short-listed for an interview with the CAC.”
The six shortlisted candidates will have to give a presentation for their vision of Indian cricket to the CAC. The committee after evaluating all their options will likely make a decision soon.
Despite some high-profile names gunning for the job, current incumbent Shastri still remains the favourite to retain his position. Skipper Virat Kohli has often glowingly spoken about the role of Shastri on many occasions. The current staff were handed a 45-day extension to their tenure till the end of the West Indies tour.
