Here’s a look at 5 such youngsters who could very well feature in the Indian team’s squad list for the 2021 T20 World Cup.

5. Ishan Kishan

One of the most talented young wicket-keeper batsmen in the Indian cricketing circles at the moment, Ishan Kishan, has made a name for himself over the years playing in various tournaments. Having played in 51 games of the IPL, he has scored 1211 runs and has been a handy wicketkeeper for the Mumbai Indians. And now, the time looks right for him to be included in the Indian team for the shortest format and he could very well be found in the Indian dressing room for the 2021 T20 World Cup. Another thing that favours him is the fact that the mainstay of the Indian team, Rishabh Pant has not been firing with the bat for some time now.

4. Ravi Bishnoi

The 20-year-old leggie from Rajasthan, Ravi Bishnoi is another name that came into the limelight after the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League. And given his past performances and numbers from the marquee T20 tournament, he looks to be someone who could be included in the Indian team for the 2021 T20 World Cup.

In the IPL, he proved to be a good spin bowling option as he took 12 wickets while handling the bowling duties for his franchise, the Kings XI Punjab. His performances impressed everyone and would have surely caught the eye of the Indian captain, Virat Kohli.

3. Varun Chakravarthy

The Tamil Nadu Premier League has come to be a good breeding ground for younger talents from the state in the past few years. One such player is Varun Chakravarthy, who after doing well in the TNPL translated his success into the Indian Premier League and is now in contention for a spot in the national team.

Economical bowling and pinpoint accuracy with the ball have been two things that have defined his stay in professional cricket. His run in the 2020 edition of the IPL earned him enough credits to be in the Indian team’s squad for Australia, but could not make it into the final group that travelled down owing to an injury.

2. T Natarajan

Another player coming in from Tamil Nadu, who has put everyone in awe in recent times with his bowling is T Natarajan. After doing well in the lower levels of cricket, Natarajan’s first break came in the form of an IPL contract with the Kings XI Punjab. He did decently with the team before moving on to play for the Sunrisers Hyderabad where he found his true self. In IPL 2020 he impressed everyone, bagging 16 wickets in the tournament.
