1.Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) (2013)

After qualifying for the playoffs in the 2012 edition, Delhi Capitals started the 2013 season in a horrendous way. They lost the first six matches on the bounce and became the first team to register the unwanted record. The team lost three matches at home in Delhi and as many games at away venues. Captain Mahela Jayawardene had no answers to the team’s struggle as they won just three out of the 16 matches and finished rock bottom (ninth) in the table at the end.

2.Royal Challengers Bangalore (2019)

Royal Challengers Bangalore endured another tough season in the 2019 edition. After suffering badly in the previous 2017 and 2018 seasons, the team started the 2019 campaign in a calamitous way. Led by Virat Kohli, the team got defeated in the first six games. The Bangalore-based franchise lost three matches at home and three away. The most popular and star-studded RCB side ended the tournament with just five wins out of the 14 encounters and in the eighth position in the points table.

3.Mumbai Indians (2022)

Mumbai Indians became the third team to lose six consecutive matches at the start of an IPL season. They are enduring a disastrous season in the ongoing 2022 edition. They broke their own record of losing the first five games in the 2014 season. Led by Rohit Sharma, the five-time champions are clearly looking short of ideas and lack quality bowlers. With six defeats on the spin, the team finds itself in the tenth and last position on the table.
