3 players with the most IPL centuries against a single opponent

The contest between bat and ball is at the highest level in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, few players do not tend to worry much when they are facing a particular opponent in the IPL. On that note, let us look at three players who have scored the most centuries against a single opponent in IPL.

1. KL Rahul (three against MI)

Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul on April 24 (Sunday) became the first batter to score three hundred against the same opponent in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The feat came against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians during a group stage match of IPL 2022. To note, Rahul had earlier stroked an excellent century against the Men in Blue and Gold in this edition. Meanwhile, Rahul scored his first IPL century against MI at the Wankhede Stadium three years ago.

2. Chris Gayle (two against PBKS)

Universe Boss Chris Gayle made his first century against Kings XI Punjab during IPL 2011. Playing for RCB, Gayle stroked an excellent 107 off 49 balls against the average-looking bowling line-up of Kings XI Punjab. The second century came during IPL 2015. The powerful batter stroked 117 runs in 57 balls and took on every bowler of the Punjab bowling unit. His side won that match by a big margin of 138 runs.

3. Virat Kohli (two against GL)

Indian batter Virat Kohli was in beast mode during IPL 2016 as he finished with four centuries in a single edition. However, his first century against Gujarat Lions was enough for RCB to win the match. However, Kohli played an excellent unbeaten knock of 100 in 63 balls. The Lions bowlers had no clue against RCB as both Kohli (109 runs) and Ab de Villiers (129) swept aside GT. The Red Army went on to win the contest by 144 runs.
