3 players who deserved a BCCI central contract
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the centrally contracted list of Indian cricketers for 2022, with 27 cricketers were named in the list. However, there were other deserving candidates who did not find a mention in the list of contracted cricketers by the BCCI. Let us take a look at 3 such cricketers.
3.Avesh Khan
Avesh definitely deserved to be included in the BCCI Central Contract list. He emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker in the 2021 edition of the IPL and scalped 24 wickets in the tournament at an average of 18.75. He is a bowler who has pace and can also swing the ball. And, the right-arm pacer is useful both upfront with the new ball as well as in the death in limited-overs cricket.
2.Venkatesh Iyer
Venkatesh Iyer is another player who deserved a contract Iyer took the second half of the 2021 edition of the IPL by storm, and scored 370 runs in the tournament, at an average of 41.11. Iyer has also done reasonably well for India in T20I cricket and has scored 133 runs at a strike rate of over 160.
1.Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan is a trailblazer at the top of the order for any team that he plays for. The MI side spent over INR 15 crore to procure his services in the IPL mega auction. Kishan has played 61 matches in the IPL and has scored over 1000 runs at a strike rate of over 135. The southpaw can turn the course of a match in a jiffy and swing the momentum back in favour of his side. The talented youngster certainly deserved a BCCI central contract.
