3 players to score the most runs in a List A tournament

List A is the One-Day form (limited-overs) of cricket in domestic competitions. All the International ODIs have been included in List A cricket. It is one of the major forms of cricket with First-Class and Twenty20 cricket. Scoring truckloads of runs in a few consecutive matches is achievable but to score throughout a complete tournament is something really special and rare feat.

Let’s take a look at 3 players to score the most runs in a single List A Cricket competition:

3.Jimmy Cook (902 runs)

Former South African player Jimmy Cook has scored the third-most runs in a single List A Cricket tournament. Cook amassed 902 runs in 16 innings at an average of 64.42 in Sunday League competition in the year 1990. The tournament was a 40-overs-per-side event and also called the Refuge Assurance League. The entire competition took place in England. The right-handed batter slammed three centuries and six half-centuries with the highest score of 136*.

2.Tom Moody (917 runs)

Australian Tom Moody has mustered the second-most runs in a solitary List A competition. Like Cook, Moody also scored the runs in the Sunday League but in a different year. He smashed 917 runs in the previous year in 1990. The tall right-handed batter had an average of 70.53 with the highest score of 160 in 15 innings. The Aussie slammed four hundreds and five half-centuries during the course of the Sunday League 1990.

1.Anamul Haque (1138 runs)

Bangladeshi player Anamul Haque has taken the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) 2022 by storm. The right-handed batter hammered 1138 runs at an average of 81.28 and a strike rate of 98.61 in 15 innings. Haque, who last played international cricket for Bangladesh in an ODI in 2019, slammed three tons and nine fifties with the best score of 184. He now holds the record for scoring the most runs in a single tournament of List A Cricket. He struck 97 fours and 47 maximums in the DPL 2022 edition.
