3 Lowest totals of IPL 2022

T20 is such a short and demanding format that a team always looks to score runs quickly. Setting the target or chasing, batters have no time for a second thought as scoring runs at a faster rate is the topmost priority for them. In this process, many times teams lose wickets in clusters and get bundled out too early. In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season, few sides have lost their way in the innings and got out cheaply.

Let’s take a look at 3 lowest totals in IPL 2022:

3.Kolkata Knight Riders (101)

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have registered the third-lowest total so far in the ongoing 2022 edition. They got bundled out for just 101 runs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 53 in Pune. The Giants batted first and posted 176/7 with Quinton de Kock scoring a half-century. In the run-chase, all the LSG bowlers were up to the mark especially Avesh Khan, who took 3/19 in three overs. Andre Russell top-scored for KKR with his 45 runs knock with the Knight Riders getting dismissed in just 14.3 overs to lose the encounter by 75 runs.

2.Lucknow Super Giants (82)

LSG recorded the second-lowest total in IPL 2022. The new franchise got all out for 82 runs against another new team Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 57 in Pune. The Titans batted first and scored 144/4 thanks to an unbeaten half-century from Shubman Gill. Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers for his spell of 2/26. Chasing just 145 runs to win, it went horribly wrong for LSG as they collapsed and got dismissed for 82 in 13.5 overs to lose the match by 62 runs. Deepak Hooda top-scored for them with his 27 runs while Rashid Khan spun his web to dismantle Super Giants line-up with his spell of 4/24.

1.Royal Challengers Bangalore (68)

April 23 and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) surely have a connection between them. On April 23, 2017 RCB registered the lowest total of 49 runs and on April 23, 2022, RCB scripted the lowest total of 68 runs against Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2022. Faf du Plessis’s RCB got all out for just 68 runs while batting first with pacer Marco Jansen doing the damage with his spell of 3/25. SRH raced away to the target of 69 in just eight overs with opener Abhishek Sharma amassing 47 runs. RCB suffered humiliation in losing the clash by nine wickets in Match 36 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
