3 Bowlers who conceded most wides in an IPL innings
A bowler just can’t afford to deliver extra runs to the batting side in any format. In the limited-overs format, no-balls are awarded as free hits to the batting team, which is obviously an advantage. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) few bowlers have delivered over ten runs in wides.
Let’s take a look at 3 bowlers who conceded most wides in an IPL innings:
3.Ramesh Powar and Shane Harwood (11)
Spinner Ramesh Powar conceded 11 wides while playing for Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Delhi in 2010. He bowled two five wides and a solitary wide in the spell. Powar leaked 25 runs in his four overs and bowled 17 dots in his spell.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Shane Harwood also gave away 11 extra runs in wides against KXIP (now PBKS) in Durban in 2009. He delivered five wides, then two more, and another four later to concede 26 runs with one wicket in a four-over spell. The seamer also delivered 15 dot balls in the match.
2.Bhuvneshwar Kumar (12)
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pace bowler leaked 12 runs in wides in a recent match against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Navi Mumbai in the 2022 edition. The right-arm medium bowler bowled two five wides and another two wides to leak 12 extra runs. He finished his four overs spell with 37 runs for two wickets, with ten dots.
